How to Manage Your Energy During the Holidays
We are doing the holidays differently this year!

During a recent workshop that I co-hosted, we found that many of us were experiencing the same theme of spreading ourselves too thin.
There were various reasons why we found ourselves making these choices.
It really boiled down to
not feeling safe counting on others to help.
Some of us had done a lot of work on this, but more layers were revealed.
Over the years, I have gotten better at receiving and saying thank you, but my co-hosts, Soozie and Rebecca, had honored me in a way that I had not expected. I literally found myself in tears at their generosity and thoughtfulness.
And I found myself attempting to “control” the gift they gave me.
WHY ARE THERE ALWAYS MORE LAYERS?! I can ask for help with some things, but don’t want to be too much of a burden with other things.
The truth is most people want to help, we just need to get better at asking and not be attached to the outcome when we receive help.
With the holidays approaching, I figured this would be a good time to practice.
Do you find yourself spread too thin and not comfortable asking for help? Or maybe it’s just easier to do it yourself? If this is you , I am going to go ahead and suggest that you decide to do your life differently starting now. If you have gotten better over the years, I am going to suggest that you allow for some expansion of your receiving skills. You may be pleasantly surprised as I was.
I am also going to suggest that you allow yourself to
focus on the
best possible outcome, while coming from your heart center, so that you actually CREATE the experiences that you desire.
Proactive prevention is the best way to do this.
Here are 3 morning rituals that I recommend:
- Ground your energy
- Light up your chakras
- Visualize your day as if it has already happened.
When I allow life to take over and fail to complete these three morning actions, I know within the first hour of my day. My drive to work will be a shit show. My communication with my family in the morning will be stressed and frustrated. I’ll run into obstacle after obstacle. When I find myself here, I take a deep breath and get heart-centered. I breathe with my heart to bring me back to center.
If this sounds familiar, I would love for you to join me in being more conscious of your thoughts and energy to prevent spreading yourself too thin this holiday season.
Let's start by thinking about these:
What do you want to experience? If we want fun and creativity, we also must remember to invite fun and creativity into our lives. Remember that our experiences begin with our thoughts, be conscious of your thoughts, then raise your vibration to match what you want to experience.
One thing that never works for me during the holidays is when I am too tightly attached to the outcome of an experience.
One thing that always works for me is to embrace an event or experience with curiosity and excitement, coming from innocence. And expecting fun? Definitely. Create space for more laughter and joy.
How to handle loss: Many of us miss our loved ones that are no longer with us. I always say honor that sadness, but just don't hang out there. Instead, do something to honor those who are no longer with us. Do something sacred to honor all of your emotions with the loss.
Know that this is going to take perseverance to create these new habits. Sometimes our bodies just want to take control based on past experiences. If you find yourself going into a default setting of suffering, I have included an Emotional Freedom Technique video to help your body process some of those heavy emotions.
I would also love to have you join me and my beautiful friend, Andrea, for our workshop Get Centered for the Holidays! On November 16th, Andrea will be helping you embrace your creativity and joy, and I am excited to teach you techniques to not take on other people's energy, to stay grounded, and to feel supported in your day-to-day life. We will also create a plan of action tailored to your needs to help you when moments get challenging.

Let's take action this season to ground and center, ask for help, and receive with grace and love.
Much love,
Dena
