How to create a summer of Self-Acknowledgement

Where are you right now?
When was the last time you acknowledged yourself? Let’s go ahead and plan that this month. Summer begins this month so let’s flow with this lighter energy.
Pause and acknowledge where you are now! Not where you think you should be or where you want to be, but pause and BE with where you are. Take it in and be kind to yourself.
What does a summer of self-acknowledgment look like? Try some of these ideas to soak up the goodness of who you are right now:
Create a Self-Acknowledgment Ritual
We all need a proper “Me Day”! Start by picking a special day or time each month to honor and celebrate you.
- Treat it like a birthday and write it in your planner (pause reading this email and do this now!).
- Every “Me Day” create a simple, cozy sacred space, light a candle, use some favorite scents, and take a few deep breaths.
- Then think about all the positive things you've accomplished and the challenges you've overcome recently, no matter how small.
- Write them down in a journal or a special poster or share them out loud to your mirror or even share with a trusted friend who gets you.
- End with a statement of joyful acknowledgment, “Dena, you’re a f&*ing powerhouse, and you’re doing a great job.”
Mindful Moments of Bliss
Sprinkle little moments of magic throughout your day that raise your frequency.
- What makes you shine, and brings a lightness to your being? Is it music? Or nature? A walk around the block? A big whiff of rose essential oil? Even just a quick moment of heart coherence between tasks.
- Create magic moments, hourly if possible, throughout the day. As you do, take a minute to tune in to the present moment. Notice how you're feeling, what thoughts are dancing through your mind, and how your body feels.
- Take in the beauty of what you have created with this magic moment, and let gratitude fill your heart. You deserve this blissful buzz!
Clear emotional blocks around self-love
Do this Tapping routine as often as needed to remove blocks around self-love, and love, honor, and accept your authentic self as you are.
Reflect and Shine
Make time for soul-searching and reflection.
- Find a comfy corner where you can journal, meditate, or simply daydream about your journey.
- Ask yourself: What are you most proud of? What challenges have you conquered like a boss? How have you grown emotionally and spiritually?
- Load on the compliments like you would to a child learning to walk, and notice what it feels like in your body to talk this way to yourself!
Gratitude Party, Just for You
It’s your turn to be the center of appreciation.
- Every day, jot down or say out loud three things you appreciate about yourself.
- It can be your unique qualities, your resilience to get you here, or the small acts of kindness you show to others.
- Let that feeling of gratitude warm you and wash over you as you recognize the lovely, kind, awesome, gentle, badass human you are.
Connect and Share Your Journey
I love to remind people of this because it’s so healing, and we tend to shy away from connection when we think we are ‘not our best.’ You don't have to go it alone!
- Connect with a supportive community, find a person who gets you or someone who you have connected comfortably with in the past.
