Reflect, Respect, and Release for 2023

We have accomplished so much this past year, but I know that we forget to honor it. 


We have set better boundaries. We have accomplished many goals small and big. I want you to take this in. I want you to take action right now to honor yourself, and get clear about a few intentions for next year. 

I would Love for you to journal about these things and reflect a bit, but if you just don’t have the capacity, please pause now, and take a moment to reflect in your mind. 



What are 3 things that you will leave in this year? 

Allow these to be thoughts, old habits, relationships, or even that version of yourself that you’re done playing. When you find yourself behaving in the old manner, state, “no more of 'this behavior'” and take physical action to create a different experience. 


Here are 5 Examples: 

  1. That 23-year expired relationship with so and so. He/she/they crossed too many boundaries. 
  2. The need to always be right or liked. 
  3. The attachment to ... 
  4. Perfection 
  5. Pity parties 




What are 3 things that you need to honor from this year? 

This may be challenging for some because we will think, “I could have done better.” STOP THAT!! Honor what you have done!  Take a breath and allow it to feel good! 


Here are 5 Examples: 

  1. I am so proud of myself for consciously being aware of my negative thoughts. 
  2. I took small steps to change that unhealthy behavior and it feels so good. 
  3. I have consciously come from my heart more moments this past year than any other time in my adult life! 
  4. I got clear on my worth and taught so-and-so how I want to be treated now. 
  5. I allowed myself to change my mind without guilt. 


What are 3 doable intentions for next year? 

No extreme goals here. Think of actions daily actions that will become a doable habit. 


Here are 5 Examples: 

  1. Visualize my day before I get out of bed and focus on the best possible outcome. 
  2. Each night I will honor what I am proud of and I will set intentions for the next day. 
  3. I will be more present and set limits on my social media time. 
  4. I will drink 16 oz of water as soon as I wake up 
  5. I will write a thank you card to a new person each week 


Please notice how all these examples support feeling good. Let’s focus on what we are proud of and what we are looking forward to creating. 

If we desire something different, we must put our energy towards that. 

As we know, we can’t change the past. We can be observers of our bad experiences, but we don’t have to keep reliving the drama. Take small steps to create new “feel good” experiences instead.


Each day, pause to reflect on all of the feel-good moments.
