Keep It Easy
Yes, it's only November but...

Every year when the holidays come around, energy work and self-care often get pushed out of our focus and drowned out by all the “noise” of the holidays.
Things can quickly feel overwhelming. We forget to make heart-based decisions, and start to come from lack, frustration and/or fear. We know from experience that this only makes us feel worse.
Let’s allow the holidays to be easier this year. Stop believing that 2020 has to be hard. Let’s make sure we have this all in perspective.
Remember what holidays are really about for you. What do your fondest holiday memories contain? Do you remember the gifts? The wrapping? Decorations? Or is it…the warmth of family and friends together? The connections and relationships? Or is it…sadness, loneliness, stress of expectations and complicated relationships?
Whatever that is for you, what do you want it to be this year? Calm? Loving? Comfortable?
THIS is your focus. THIS is your holiday light. Put it on repeat, make it your daily/hourly mantra.
Allow your choices to easily support this intention. If you choose the word calm and so and so wants to invite his/her new partner to the Zoom party, but you know it won’t be the same with this new person, what choice could you make that would keep it calm?
What can you choose this season to keep the frequency high? Do THAT!
So, now that you are recentered with your holiday light shining, let’s make it easier to hold onto when things get loud.
November is NOWvember! There are steps that you can take NOW that will keep you ahead of the crazy, and free up mind and heart space to focus on and truly enjoy the moments that fill you with light.
Here are 5 ways you can prepare now, so you can Keep It Easy till the end of the year:
- Devote 15 minutes daily to your planning.
- Schedule your self-care into each day! Whatever it may be that you most need to feel grounded and centered, block that time out daily on your calendar and stick with it.
- Plan your gifts.
- Write out your gift list and budget for each person.
- Be realistic and be frugal. Spending more than you want to won’t create the intended joy of giving on either end.
- Think of ways to gift TIME or experiences (even in COVID times, there are ways you can do this. Think activity boxes, a themed party in a box, hands on craft activity, printed photo albums, personalized calendars and jigsaw puzzles)
- Talk to your family about doing a “nothing new” or “zero-waste” holiday, and let the planet take a breath with you!
- Take advantage of people who already did the work to scope out holiday gifts that are thoughtful and useful (google Top Ten mindful gifts, or "zero-waste gifts," or get your essential oil gift packs here: https://www.doterra.com/US/en/site/lom)
- Prepare for Black Friday sales to shop early and save money!
Starting now will help you to keep your light shining while you enjoy the process!
